Care of Metal and Crystal Jewelry or Home Decor

It is important to care for your jewelry and/or home decor items to help them last for years.  Each material may need to be addressed in different ways.  Generally, a mild dish soap and water can clean most items and items will need to be thoroughly dried using care not to dislodge wire/crystals/beads.  Store your items in antitarnish jewelry bags/boxes, use tarnish tabs, or cloths to help protect your jewelry items.  Prolonged exposure to sunlight can damage or otherwise change the colors of some crystals and metal may be warm/soft.

CAUTION:

  • Do not heat your items

  • Take items off before you bathe/shower/wash hands/swim

  • Do not expose items to prolonged water/moisture or chemicals as some crystals may dissolve, wire may tarnish, etc.

  • Take off items before participating in sports, gardening or other activities which may damage or destroy your jewelry
